Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Talent Acquisition will provide strategic guidance and creative solutions that meet the challenges of competing for human talent in today’s hyper-competitive marketplace. Most importantly, the Director will create and nurture relationships, leverage technologies and processes, and lead Monarch’s recruiting team to sustained, long-term success.

Monarch (https://monarchnc.org) is a values-driven, $100M+ North Carolina-based healthcare and human services organization that provides hope, promotes wellness, and empowers individuals and families impacted by mental illness, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injury. Monarch is nationally accredited by The Joint Commission. Its 1500-member staff provides a broad array of Behavioral Health Services, Long-Term Supports & Services and Tailored Care Management though 130 sites across the state.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Our “Ideal” Candidate will be a recruiting professional with management and leadership experience in behavioral healthcare or health systems whose work has demonstrated the following experiences, traits, and characteristics:

  • Depth of talent acquisition knowledge in all components of operating a recruitment function such as sourcing techniques, workforce planning, succession planning, interview process, interview compliance, diversity and inclusion knowledge applied to hiring process, employee engagement and joining-up process and effective retention strategies

  • Strategic thinker who can offer consultation on a broad range of policy and planning issues

  • Offering creative solutions to complex, every changing problems

  • Professional presence with a proven track record of engagement and building effective relationships

  • Customer-focused orientation with strong communication skills and the ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal and external clients

  • Broad range of knowledge of sourcing strategies and talent attraction tools to build candidate pipelines

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate others

  • Superior client services skills with the ability to work collaboratively with organizational teams

  • Demonstrated ability to explain difficult issues and information clearly, ensuring communication is understood

  • Knowledge of current compensation trends and benchmarks

  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, effectively managing timelines, processes, resources, and communication

  • Is an agent of change who understands the role of organization culture in shaping the future

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. At least 7 years of progressive recruiting and talent acquisition experience including 3 years or more in a management or leadership role are required. Significant experience working in a large and complex healthcare delivery system is preferred.

Location: Home-based in Albemarle, North Carolina, the leadership team has been working in a hybrid environment since well before COVID. Given the organization’s broad geographic reach across the state, a successful candidate may choose to live anywhere that allows regular contacts within the organization and with the academic programs, students and potential employees whose future partnerships will play a key part in the success of Monarch’s recruiting strategies.
