Background:

Aspire Indiana Health is a dynamic community based “whole health service” not-for-profit delivery system providing primary medical care, behavioral healthcare, recovery services and programs addressing the social determinants of health such as housing and employment. Aspire provides quality health care in five Central Indiana counties, serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life. Aspire’s history of providing care in this region dates back more than 50 years, with its medical services just one part of this comprehensive $60m system of care with a rich tradition and excellent reputation. Its development can be traced back to the commitment made by dedicated citizens from the area in concert with the support provided by the State of Indiana, Hamilton, Marion, Madison, Boone and Grant Counties, federal grants, and of course it’s fund-raising activities. This support has allowed for the development of Aspire’s comprehensive local delivery systems committed to providing much needed community-based care for area residents.

Aspire Indiana Health prides itself as having a highly committed Board of Directors representing the communities it serves; a Board whose energy, entrepreneurialism, and commitment to quality are truly exemplary. And Aspire’s dedicated staff of over 600 employees provided over 366,000 visits this past year within a philosophical framework of “recovery” and a commitment to serving its clients in a holistic fashion. It is often recognized as an organization that is “on the cutting edge” in its provision of the highest quality healthcare services, and as one of the largest comprehensive systems in Central Indiana, it is typically seen as a model system that often changes the landscape of how “best practices” can be delivered. Within Aspire Indiana Health’s multi-corporation ecosystem is a Joint Commission Accredited Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) which is also a SAMHSA CCBHC grantee and a HRSA designated FQHC Look-Alike. These designations demonstrate Aspire’s commitment to quality, transparency, and client satisfaction.

The Position

The Vice President plays an essential role in ensuring Aspire’s “whole healthcare” delivery system is delivered with an emphasis on its transdisciplinary integrated practices and services. This individual will focus on optimizing clinical, quality services and workflows within its $15m FQHC through working collaboratively with the officers of the corporation and VPs on the executive team. This growing FQHC Division currently employees 90 FTEs and had 55,000 visits in its most recent year and works in an integrative fashion with its colleagues in Aspire’s other programs as these medical services expand.

Aspire Indiana Health is looking to find a strong and innovative healthcare leader to build upon the wonderful foundation of “whole health.”  The VP is instrumental in advancing and supporting Aspire’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, working with other leadership in the further development and implementation of a fully integrated care model across the region. The VP will ensure a culture of clinical excellence that includes both inspiring staff and evaluating clinical processes, adjusting courses of action to be responsive to changing environments and will provide clarity surrounding priorities and goals.

The Vice President’s operational oversight will include Psychiatric and Primary Care Services, Nursing Services and the Infectious Disease Program (Ryan White program and PreP).

With this in mind, our “ideal candidate” will:

  • Have clinical and operational experience in FQHCs partnering with community mental health centers and/or CCBHCs

  • Possess a strong business acumen with the ability to balance clinical excellence while overseeing fiscally sound medical services.

  • Have experience with multi-site, complex and diverse organizations, including those serving residents of rural and urban areas

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of HRSA, Medicaid, Medicare, Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies’ requirements

  • Have demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other leadership teams in identifying, developing, implementing, evaluating, and optimizing integrated service lines

  • Possess a graduate degree in healthcare, business or nursing administration; an RN, an MSN, or Doctorate level nursing degree that is license eligible in Indiana is preferred;

  • Be technologically adept; outcomes and metrics oriented; EHR implementation experience a plus

  • Demonstrates inclusive leadership through written, verbal communication and behaviors

  • Be passionate about serving individuals and families with complex, medical, psychiatric, and social needs including those historically experiencing health inequities

We are looking for a Vice President committed to making their home in a warm and welcoming Central Indiana Midwest community that offers a highly desirable quality of life with excellent schools and healthcare services, abundant recreational opportunities, a good cost of living with quality affordable housing. Our region includes urban, suburban, small town and country living within Aspire’s culturally diverse service area and vibrant and expanding business opportunities. Many communities are rated as “best places to live” in our region, with great cultural and educational opportunities, great dining, and access to multiple sports venues, with “big city” (Indianapolis) access and small-town values.

At Aspire, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are integral to our mission, vision, and values. We believe that our workforce should reflect the vast diversity of the communities we serve, and that diverse voices should be intentionally elevated and included in our work.

Aspire is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer
