Overview: Given its rapid growth and success, Nystrom & Associates (Nystrom) is looking for an experienced clinical leader to join their dynamic and dedicated senior leadership team to become the “Clinical Voice” of the organization in the Chief Clinical Officer role.

 

Nystrom is one of the largest providers of outpatient mental health services in the country, bringing together professionals from the fields of psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, substance use and addiction and nursing to provide comprehensive mental health treatment to those in need. The company provides outpatient services conveniently to patients in its clinics, in-home through its extensive community-based provider base, and via telehealth. Founded in 1991 in Minnesota, Nystrom now operates over 46 outpatient mental health clinics across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa and continues to grow at a rapid pace. Nystrom serves nearly 90,000 patients and performs over 900,000 patient encounters annually, with services provided by its 1,500 employees (including approximately 1,000 clinical staff). Nystrom & Associates is a portfolio company of Nautic Partners.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a premier mental health provider with an exceptional leadership team. Nystrom & Associates is backed by a world class private equity sponsor and is well positioned to continue their explosive growth. The Company has grown from 16 locations in Minnesota only, to 46 clinics in three states (MN, WI, IA) in the past 2 years through both de novos and acquisitions. Nystrom expects to continue the expansion in the coming years.

 

Over the years, Nystrom has responded to its communities’ needs and has subsequently developed a broad spectrum of outpatient programs serving adults, children, and families throughout the tri-state area. Headquartered in a suburb of Minneapolis/St Paul (New Brighton MN), its presence can be felt throughout the markets served. This is an opportunity for a clinical leader to take Nystrom to the next level as it looks to remain vital in this dynamic and rapidly changing healthcare environment. This clinical leader will have an Executive leadership voice per clinical considerations and be responsible for:

  • Clinical strategy – what services we offer and why, what services we are looking to add and why

  • Clinician training – both upfront and on-going

  • Clinical outcomes – leadership on path from where we are to where we want to be

  • Clinical representative of the organization as needed in these settings: Industry conferences – e.g., relevant MN/IA/WI associations, National Council, NABH, Payers & Governmental agencies

  • have experience in working in partnerships with community leaders, other healthcare organizations, and elected officials

 

  • have clearly demonstrable oral and written communications skills, combined with having excellent people skills

 

  • be committed to providing care of the highest quality while also possessing strong financial skills as part of being an effective leader in a financially secure organization

 

  • have demonstrated an ability to ensure the organization remains dynamic and responsive to changing times and needs

 

  • have a demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality care and compliance as a foundation of an organization

 

  • Licensed or Minnesota license eligible independent practice clinician with experience across mental health and SUD – preferably licensed psychologist

 

  • Substantive business experience – preferably as (a) the owner/operator of a practice or (b) the leader of a mental health clinical team

General Location Information: New Brighton, MN is located 10 miles to either of the downtown areas of Minneapolis or St Paul providing access to a variety of activities and interests. In addition, New Brighton located near the major freeways and a short 30 minutes to the Minneapolis St Paul International Airport. Relocation to our area is strongly preferred.
