Overview: A rewarding leadership opportunity awaits the new Chief Behavioral Health & Addictions Officer of a forward looking and rapidly growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system that serves Northwest Indiana through a network of 13 clinics and specialty programs in 7 communities. HealthLinc seeks an innovative behavioral healthcare professional to join its dynamic leadership team to oversee its behavioral health and addictions programs and services  and to provide guidance and support for its strategic development as the premier community health center serving its region. With a current budget of $40M+, HealthLinc (www.healthlincchc.org) has a rich history of community service and has developed a comprehensive network of primary care, specialty services and a unique array of non-traditional community services including:

  • School-based mobile health clinics & telehealth clinics

  • College campus clinics

  • Integrated Behavioral Health consultations and brief interventions

  • Medication Assisted Treatment  - Addictions

  • Community Health Worker Program to facilitate appropriate community services

  • Mobile Integrated Response Teams to address the opioid crisis

  • Medical-Legal Partnership to serve low-income individuals with non-criminal civil legal aid problems.

  • Clinic-based Pharmacies

  • Optometry and vision care  -  Podiatry Services - Chiropractic Services

  • Reach Out and Read - an evidence-based model shown to build early literacy skills. Medical providers educate parents on the importance of reading to their children at home and give parents the means to do so, by providing them with a brand-new book to take home.

 

The high quality of HealthLinc’s clinical care, its providers and support teams is evident by its  achievement of NCQA Level 3 PCMH for all clinics and receiving 100% compliance in its most recent HRSA certification survey. HealthLinc also boasts  Family Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Pharmacy residency programs and a certified Medical Assistant Training Program. HealthLinc is committed to strengthening its clinical, support and administrative infrastructure to promote continued innovation and growth.

 

The Role: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Behavioral Health & Addictions Officer will direct, administer, coordinate, and integrate the systems, activities and initiatives that drive the achievement of quality outcomes for our patients and their families whose lives are affected by behavioral health and addictions (BHA) concerns.

You will guide HealthLinc toward a comprehensive system of integrated and specialty behavioral health and addictions care that builds on its unique array of services and community partnerships. As HealthLinc’s BHA Subject Matter Expert, you will advise the CEO, COO and Chief of Quality regarding standards of care and practice guidelines, legal issues, quality improvement and compliance. As a working behavioral health leader you will play an active role as a clinical consultant and operations leader for your teams - assuring appropriate staffing and clinical supervision to an increasingly diverse portfolio of both clinic and community-based services. You will balance strategic and operational demands to achieve clinical. administrative and financial performance goals. Developing and nurturing productive partnerships with a broad stakeholder base will be key to your and the BHA program’s success. Identifying and securing alternate funding streams to support innovative program initiatives is paramount. You will serve as a member of the Leadership Team. In partnership with Team members, you will develop and implement plans to strategically position HealthLinc to be prepared for the transition from fee-for-service to a value-based payment system. Your success will rely on your own performance and your ability to develop and nurture collaborative relationships.

Our Ideal Candidate: "Ideal" candidates will be behavioral healthcare professionals with management and leadership experience within community behavioral health systems, passionate about serving people and will have the business acumen to balance competing priorities. Candidates must have successful track records leading strategic initiatives and building innovative systems of programs and services while maintaining a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves approach. Enjoyment of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is a must.   

  • Graduate degree in social work, psychology or related behavioral health field

  • Clinical licensure as an independent behavioral health provider. i.e. LCSW

  • 5 - 7 years progressive behavioral healthcare senior management experience

  • Track record of program and funding development including grants and contracts

  • Ambulatory, public health and.or FQHC experience preferred but not required
