Overview: Concert Health is a national organization providing evidence-based behavioral health services to primary care organizations. A leader in the field of behavioral health, Concert Health is seeking a talented psychiatrist executive to join its team as its first Chief Medical Officer and contribute to its strategic development while leading a growing team of over 30 full-time and part-time psychiatric consultants across the country.

Concert Health (www.concerthealth.io) helps primary care providers deliver exceptional, reimbursable integrated behavioral health services to their patients. Concert provides primary care partners with a comprehensive Collaborative Care solution -- care managers, psychiatric consultants and technology -- to help identify and treat their patients struggling  with a variety of behavioral health diagnoses. Concert Health’s remote team provides evidence-based interventions to promote symptom reduction and optimal outcomes for patients.

We are continuing to expand to make behavioral health services more accessible to patients and communities in need. We are currently seeking a Chief Medical Officer to be a part of a dynamic leadership team taking Concert Health to scale. This is an opportunity for you to mold the program, advance the practice of Collaborative Care, and expand its accessibility to new patient groups - all while working with 5 of the largest health systems in the country.

Your responsibilities:

​

  • Hire and provide clinical and administrative oversight to a team of psychiatric consultants, nurse practitioners and MDs, who work with Concert’s Behavioral Care Managers, licensed clinical social works and licensed mental health counselors, and primary care practices in multiple states

  • Participate in strategic discussions with large health care organizations, payers , healthcare leaders as well as advocacy groups and events

  • Develop technology to advance psychiatric consultation and services in coordination with Concert Health’s leading product and technology team

  • Assist in the develop of related research and publications to advance Collaborative Care

  • Ensure Concert’s psychiatric consultants are providing appropriate consultation to primary care providers, including special populations such as children/adolescents, addiction, reproductive health and geriatrics

  • Assist with the development of psychiatric consultation quality measures, benchmarks and development of organization-wide documentation standards

  • Provide as-needed telephone caseload consultation to both Psychiatric Consultants and to Concert Health Behavioral Care Managers (BCMs), focused primarily on patients new to treatment or not improving as expected 

  • Assist in the implementation and orientation of new primary care practices to Concert Health and partner with healthcare leadership to develop and optimize psychiatric consultation for primary care and women's health providers

 

You:

​

  • Understand and embrace the Collaborative Care model and the role of psychiatric consultation in its delivery.  Experience practicing and collaborating effectively in primary care or integrated care settings is preferred

  • Are motivated by working with Nurse Practitioners as partners, leading leaders and engaging diverse team members in the delivery of quality integrated care

  • Have experience attracting, hiring, managing, and evaluating psychiatric consultants

  • Can quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations

  • Are knowledgeable of, and experienced with, behavioral health tools and outcome-oriented care 

  • Understand risk mitigation and have experience in both systems and individual practice responses

  • Have a strong technology background and extensive familiarity with multiple electronic health record systems

  • Have excellent communication and relationship skills

  • Are positive, flexible, and solution-focused


Requirements:

​

  • Licensed psychiatrist in any US state. You may be based anywhere in the United States as long as you hold an active license.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally
